Yes the the international boat fair is finally back, held at the Helsinki Messukeskus from 10-19.2.2023
If you are a boat owner (any kind of boat), fisher man, water enthousiast or simply looking for something to do this coming week, this is something you are allowed to get excited about.
Firstly the setting has traditionallly been quite fantastic.
In a way, messukeskus has been turned into a marina, fancy boats parked all around – champagne drinks on deck not being unheard of.
Secondly the whole fair is packed with plenty of engaging activities, really too many to be listed here, but just to give you a taste, there is a pool where you can go diving and test new scuba gear, SUP boards (short for Stand Up Paddle Board). Then there are precision fishing sessions and the selection of the guest marina of the year.
So what ever your fancy, you are likely to find it. Please do keep in kind that some of the activities, like scuba diving come with limitations, obviously you must not be under the influence of alcohol but also there is a minimum age limit (12 years) all of which is sensible.
Another sensible thing is to do is to plan your visit ahead, visit the website and have a look at what you are most interested in as this thing is huuuuge.

As usual if you buy your tickets at the door its 2€ extra. Food is available at various locations and if you look like you are about to purchase a yacht, its pretty safe to say that champagne will be offered.
Captain, It’s 21.00hrs and I’m setting course for the after party, right now!
So after an exhausting and intense day at the fair, sensible captains wil plot a course to Crystal Show Club for the after party. All our dancers are excellent swimmers and typically dressed standard yachting attire. And then they get on stage and take it all off. (What an an odd business we are in.. 🙂 )
Our friendly staff will welcome each night you from 21.00 onwards. Our first mate will offer to walk our last customers out of the club by 05.00.
The party atmosphere will engulf you like a thick fog at sea. And it goes without saying that for the whole night you will be surrounded by beautiful mermaids posing as strippers.
