UEL 2022 – HJK vs Roma – 27.10.2022

Helsinki welcomes the Romans!

Se preferisci la versione italiana, scorri fino in fondo

Helsinki and HJK are getting ready to welcome and host their next opponents in the Uefa Europa league.

Despite the rising energy prices, this once, it is safe to assume that everyone in Helsinki is hoping for wet weather conditions, with the temperature crossing over to negative celcius by half time, with maximum wind.

This would be ideal so that we can give our Italian guests a memorable trip, this game being the last match in the groups stages and everything. You know, an exciting finale in the kind of weather we are used to playing in. But even if we ish for the game conditions to be punishing, we want all the fans to have the best possible trip.

Can we expect a tough game?

Its safe to say that tougher than Jose would like to admit. It is true that la Lupa will be the favorite, at least on paper. And the 3 – 0 bashing HJK received in the eternal city. It will be interesting to see what the table will look like on the 27th. As it stands now, all the pressure will be on the Italians.

And lets not forget that the home team has a history of suprising visiting Italians.

What ever the scoreline, we are sure the match will be thrilling and would like to remind everyone that there is no better place to get warm after the game than at the best strip club in Helsinki.

The match is scheduled to start at 22.00 but luckily we are open all the way untill 5am, so plenty of time to catch the action on the stage after the game has ended.

Come to Helsinki and fill your belly

I love football and Giovanni Boccaccio

While it is unsure how much trouble exactly HJK will be able to give the visitors, we know how important food is for the Italians. And we expect our Roman guests will have some serious concerns over where to find restaurants serving pasta and pizza safe for Italians.

So friends, we must be honest. Its is true most fans in Helsinki hope the winds will be blasting cold but clean rain horisontally in your face non stop for the duration of your visit. And it is equally a fact that evryone one in this city is paraying your feet and your leather shoes stay soaking wet and that your fingers and nose tips will freeze as soon as you land at the Helsinki-Vantaa international airport.

And no, there is no need for adult men to wear socks in Finland.

But we also hope you will be able to fill your bellies, and quench your thirst, and find warmth and familiar tastes at our local restaurants.

It is our scincere wish that your culinary needs shall be met, in ways that will bring that world famous beautiful Italian smile on your faces..

For pasta, we recommend you try:

The closest thing to a pizza Romana is apparenty available at Ventuno – just over a 5 minute walk from the center – https://www.ventuno.fi/ – they are closed on Sundays and Tuesdays, open untill 23.00 on Wednesday and Thursday and untill midnight on Friday and Saturday

Some pointers to help guide you to and from the stadium:

The football stadium is within the city limits. It’s almost directly north of the city center, about a 30 minute walk. This is a pretty nice walk (depending on the weather).

Unless you are in a massive hurry, no need to take a taxi, as a very convenient way to get there is by tram. You can choose from several trams, some go straight (lines #4 and #10), while others turn left and make a short circuit (lines #2 and #3), adding about 10 more minutes to your trip. Use this very helpful website to see when the next tram will arrive and to find your way around the route. Sporat.fi

Public transport is not expesive – but no tickets will be available for purchase at the Trams. So you need to get yours in advance. We recommend you get the smartphone app which is the most convenient way of getting tickets available for both Android and IOS. More information on tickets available here https://www.hsl.fi/en/travelling/visitors

Getting to the strip club after the game.

Our address is Lönrotinkatu 19, we are less than 5 minutes walk from the center and depending on where you are staying we may be right next door. (We’re within walking distance of all downtown hotels, so it doesn’t really matter where you stay.)

Stadium to strip club

In the club we have 2 floors and VIP areas waiting for the Lupi.

Fun facts for our visitors:

  • The Bolt arena, the home stadium of the home team HJK was built 63 years after the Stadio Olympico
  • The last driver to win the F1 world championship with a Ferrari is Kimi, a very well known finnish man.
  • There are no Fiat taxis in Finland. However, operating a Fiat as a taxi is not illegal, something that is often debated at the highest levels of our government.
  • In 2005 Silvio Berlusconi proclaimed he could barely stomach the food in Finland and that the finns only ate marinate reindeer. After scheming their revenge for 3 years the Finns created the Pizza Berlusconi, which won an international pizza content in New York, beating all italian entries. You can try the Pizza Berlusconi at Kotipizza, a chain of pizza delivery restaurants located across Helsinki.

Helsinki accoglie i Romani!

The competition is tough, but the Neapolitanian pizzeria ViaTribunali on Sofiankatu raised the game when they opened up.
