Tubecon 2016 @ Hartwall Areena

Tubers come in all shapes and sizes
The first Tubecon was held in 2014. Since its beginning the event has been immensely popular. Now, only 2 years later it seems that Tubecon has been around for ever. But clearly it hasn’t, neither has Youtube, and in fact many of the tubers weren’t even born until a few years ago. While undeniably a great place to feel old, Tubecon is also a very interesting place to get your finger on the pulse regarding digital and video publishing. So its an event for enthusiasts but also professionals.
This year Tubecon stretches over 2 days, which is kind of funny in a time of 140 characters, 6 second Vine videos etc etc.. But this is Tubecon which takes it name from Youtube so I guess that does not apply.
Tubecons business model or mission revolves around supporting the “tube culture” and if the event makes profit, part of the funds are channeled towards the further development of new tubers in Finland. A concrete example being the Creator Space, an open studio that will be set up for tubers in Helsinki.
Tubecon is definitely the place to meet Scandinavian Youtubers, should you be interested in attracting some talent to do for example promotions for your business. You can get your tickets at Lippu.fi where there are 2 types of tickets for sale:
Tubecon Industry day (495€) 12.8.2016 starting at 8.30 am., which is an event offering industry leading speakers and delivering the latest developments and trends from an industry thats still in its infancy but developing rapidly and with potentially immense commercial leverage.
Tubecon 2016 – the “main event” to which you can buy a 2 day ticket starting at 33,50€. Individual day tickets are 23,50€ (Friday 12.8 and Saturday 13.8). Friday the show starts at 16.00 and Saturday at 14.00.
