Faithless are returning to Finland after 13 years. That is long enough for a nightclub classic to become a cultural landmark (and for some original fans to develop surprisingly firm opinions about lumbar support).
On Saturday 12 September 2026, Faithless bring their full live show to Merikaapelihalli at Helsinki’s Kaapelitehdas. Finnish electronic heavyweight Orkidea is the special guest, the setting is a vast former marine-cable factory and the evening promises classics from one of dance music’s most influential catalogues alongside material from all eight Faithless studio albums.
The concert finishes at approximately 22:00. Definitely designed to cater to the og fans from back in the days. Going home at that hour could feel off after having just experienced the group live – fortunately, Saturday night in Helsinki offers alternatives.

Why Faithless always matters
Faithless formed in 1995 around Sister Bliss, Rollo and Maxi Jazz. The group went on to sell more than 20 million albums, while tracks including Insomnia, God Is a DJ, Salva Mea and We Come 1 carried electronic music out of specialist clubs and into arenas, festivals, radios and the memories of people who insist dance music peaked exactly when they were 23.
Faithless combined house, progressive electronic music, trance, dub, trip-hop and classical elements. Maxi Jazz delivered calm, thoughtful spoken-word vocals while everything around him suggested the building might leave the ground.
That contrast became instantly recognisable. Plenty of electronic acts produced enormous records in the 1990s. Faithless produced enormous records that also sounded as though a very composed philosopher had arrived to explain why the lasers were necessary. But most importantly they still bang today.
This is the group’s first Finnish appearance since 2013. Older fans get a rare return. Younger fans can see an act whose fingerprints are all over electronic music they already know, even if filtered through three software updates and a DJ with no vowels in his name.
The current Faithless live show and Maxi Jazz’s legacy
Maxi Jazz died in 2022.(R.I.P.) Faithless returned to the stage in 2024 with Sister Bliss, Rollo, longtime collaborators and a larger live band. The present show honours him while continuing the project with new music.
Faithless released their eighth studio album, Champion Sound, in 2025. It includes some of Maxi Jazz’s final recorded vocals, connecting the band’s history to its return. The Helsinki set is expected to reach across all eight albums, so this is more than a 1990s nostalgia package with improved screen resolution.
Orkidea is not merely there to warm up the cables
Orkidea, also known as Tapio Hakanen, has been part of Finland’s electronic scene since the early 1990s, with thousands of performances and a long relationship with trance and progressive music.
Pairing him with Faithless makes sense. He is not a random local name added while a tour truck reverses into the loading bay. He comes from the same generation of European club culture.
Orkidea also appears later at the official afterparty with a separate set designed for that event. Apparently one Orkidea set is not enough for a night built around insomnia. The logic is difficult to challenge.
Merikaapelihalli: A warehouse-sized setting for a warehouse-sized sound
Merikaapelihalli is the largest event space inside Kaapelitehdas. The former marine-cable production hall is 110 metres long, covers 3,148 square metres and can hold up to 2,870 people. It is raw, tall, industrial and you could even say somewhat close to the spiritual home of the earlier days Faithless shows.
Fun fact that you the reader wikll most certainly appreciate: Most of Kaapelitehdas was built between 1939 and the 1950s. It became Finland’s largest building, produced marine cables and later housed electronics and computing. Three companies connected to the site merged in 1967 to form what became Nokia Corporation. How about that.
Artists moved into abandoned factory spaces in the late 1980s, helping turn the complex into one of Finland’s largest cultural centres. If your phone loses signal, it is merely rebelling against its ancestors.
Getting to Kaapelitehdas in September 2026
The simplest reliable public-transport option is the metro to Ruoholahti, followed by a walk of approximately 600 metres to Kaapelitehdas. Highly recommended unless its rainimng or you cant be bothered. For a taxi, use Kaapeliaukio 3 or the Tallberginkatu side as the destination.
There is one current detail worth knowing especially for the original fan generation. Kaapelitehdas’s general visitor page still lists tram 8, as might your personal note books as well – but HSL shortened tram 8 from 31 August 2026, and it no longer serves the Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari section. Tram 5 now replaces route 8 between Jätkäsaari and Ruoholahti. Check the HSL Journey Planner before travelling rather than following an old route from memory. Helsinki’s public transport system enjoys the occasional remix too. As a bonus there is also a juicy discount on the HSL website for everyone who bought the first Faithless single when it frst came out.
The official Faithless afterparty: Chicane and Orkidea (ok to skip)
There is an official Faithless Afterparty at Kaapelitehdas after the concert. Faithless finishes at approximately 22:00, part of Merikaapelihalli is reset and the afterparty opens at 23:00 with Chicane and Orkidea. More artists may still be announced.
Faithless does not perform at the afterparty.This was explicitly stated by the organizers as 23:00 was absolute curfew for group.
The official event is a strong option. Chicane’s Saltwater belongs to the same late-1990s electronic universe, and Orkidea will play a separate set. Tickets start at EUR 27 for Faithless ticket holders and EUR 37 for other guests. Check Live Nation and Ticketmaster for current availability.
You can therefore spend the concert and the rest of the night in the same former cable factory. Finland is a free country. The building is historically important. Nobody will judge you.
But Helsinki contains other interiors.
After Faithless: Choose Striptease!
If four hours of live electronic music leave you wanting five more hours of electronic music in the same industrial complex, the official afterparty has made an excellent case.
If you would prefer a change of scenery, Crystal Show Club offers a very different way to continue Saturday night.

Crystal Show Club is at Lönnrotinkatu 19 in central Helsinki and is open every night from 21:00 to 05:00. Across two floors you will find two stages, a bar, VIP areas and international professional dancers in a welcoming adult nightclub atmosphere.
Take the metro toward the centre or travel by taxi. Then exchange one iconic Helsinki night for a second experience requiring no nostalgia, wristband upgrade or claim that you heard Insomnia the first time around.
Faithless may finish at 22:00. Your Saturday story does not have to.
