Things to do in Helsinki right now – weeks 43 & 44

Are you just arriving to Helsinki and wondering what to do?

If the weather stays dry you should be in for some pretty, windy fall days. Simply having a walk around the city center , enjoying the fall colors may satisfy your needs. But if you are looking for some additional ideas we have listed a few events below, we also recommend you look up our restaurant recommendations as well as our other Helsinki survival guides.

Here are our tips for adding some action to you agenda.

2018 NHL Global Series – Florida Panthers vs. Winnipeg Jets

(Professional Ice Hockey)

@Hartwall Arena, Helsinki, Finland
Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 (20.00)
Friday, Nov. 2, 2018

Tickets range between  235€ / 199€ / 139€ / 99€ / 89€
Unfortunately as far as we can tell both matches are already sold out. If you are keen some VIP packages might still be available. Or you can always try the 2nd hand market options. Always be careful , perhaps ask for your hotel staff to support with the purchase process.

Even if you cant make it to the games, the vent is so big its reasonable to expect the city to be more active during both nights.

Definitely worth checking out if you are into games, winter sports and great deals.

The Dire Straits Legacy in Concert

(Live music – band website)
Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 (10.00-19.00)

Tickets starting at around 55€

@Finlandia Music Hall

This is an odd one but worth mentioning. The odd part is the name. Everybody old enough to watch striptease knows the Dire Straits, the sultans of swing. These are the same guys, but apparently they must be called The Dire Straits Legacy and listed as a group made of old members of the Dire Straits band. They are all legit and really great musicians but the ticketing agency description is still something that leaves you wanting to understand this a bit better. But don’t let that distract you, you are guaranteed to hear such famous songs like “Sultans of Swing”, “Private Investigations”, “Money for Nothing” and “Walk of Life” played by the people who know them best. Just mentioning those track names start an instant ear worm. This concert is the cure. And its set in the Finlandia Music Hall which is fine tuned to the max in terms of acoustics (not an ice hockey rink).

Sharing is caring!
